Introduction

"Bodyscape 76-3-Drawing 작업을 하면서, 저는 회화의 기본적인 요소, 선과 표면의 존재와 장식적인 특징에 대한 걱정이 즐거웠습니다. 이전의 그림들은 하나의 작품으로서 캔버스 위에 반복되는 단막을 드러내는 데 초점이 맞춰져 있었지만, 이번 시리즈의 경우에는 큰 것에서 큰 것으로, 작은 것에서 작은 것으로, 작은 것에서 작은 것으로, 심지어 작은 것에서 큰 것까지 여러 형태를 추가하는 실험을 재미있게 해보았기 때문입니다. 단순한 동작만으로 완성되는 바디스케이프와 달리 그림을 그리기 전에 머릿속으로 그림을 그리고 다시 생각하고 모양을 만드는 개념적 활동을 즐겼습니다." - 이건용 


"While working on the Bodyscape 76-3-Drawing, I was pleasantly concerned about the basic elements of painting, the presence and decorative features of lines and surfaces. While my earlier paintings have been focused on revealing a repeated single act on the canvas as one work, for this series, I'm having fun experimenting with adding multiple forms, large to large, small to small, large to small, and even small to large. Unlike Bodyscape, which is completed with only simple movement, I enjoy the conceptual activity of painting, rethinking, and creating shapes in my head before painting." - Lee Kun-Yong.



갤러리아백화점이 한국 실험미술의 거장 이건용 작가의 신작 시리즈를 선보인다. 12월 2일부터 25일까지 갤러리아백화점 웨스트홀에서 열리는 이건용과의 LOVE CHRISTMAS는 아티스트 대표 시리즈인 바디스케이프 76-3-Drawing 시리즈를 새롭게 변형한 '바디스케이프 76-3'과 NFT웍스 76-3을 선보인다. 게다가, 백화점의 그랜드 파사드는 디지털 바디스케이프 76-3의 화려하고 역동적인 작품들로 덮일 것이다. 바디스케이프 76-3 시리즈에서 작가는 캔버스를 보지 않고 몸의 방향을 바꾸고 왼손과 오른손을 움직여 동작의 흔적을 남기게 되는데, 여기서 나오는 모양은 마치 하트 모양을 연상시킨다. 그리고, 그것은 오늘날 "마음의 그림"으로 대중적으로 알려져 있고 사랑 받고 있습니다.


Galleria Department Store presents a new series of works by Lee Kun-Yong, the master of Korean experimental art. LOVE CHRISTMAS with Lee Kun-Yong, which will be held at the West Hall of Galleria Department Store from December 2nd to 25th, will be presenting artist's representative series, Bodyscape 76-3, a new variation of the series Bodyscape 76-3-Drawing, and the NFT works Digital Bodyscape 76-3. Furthermore, the grand façade of the department store will be covered with colorful and dynamic works of Digital Bodyscape 76-3. 

In the Bodyscape 76-3 series, the artist changes the direction of the body without looking at the canvas and moves his left and right hands to leave traces of action, where the resulting shape is reminiscent of a shape of heart. And, it is nowadays popularly known and loved as a "heart painting."



이번 전시회에서 공개된 '바디스케이프 76-3 드로잉' 시리즈는 다양한 아이콘과 선명한 색감이 특징인 작가의 신작이다. 작가는 대량 생산된 소비재의 종이 포장재에 하트 이미지를 끝없이 다양화하고 선, 점, 평면 등 다양한 장식적 특징을 표현해 그림의 진수를 실험한다.


The Bodyscape 76-3 Drawing series, unveiled at this exhibition, is the artist's new work characterized by various icons and vibrant colors. The artist experiments with the essence of the painting by endlessly diversifying heart image on paper packaging materials of mass-produced consumer products and expressing various decorative features such as lines, dots, and planes.
