이주영 작가는 우리 안에 있는 결여, 결핍, 편견, 선입견 등의 이야기를 객관적으로 보고 표현하려 합니다.

가끔은 귀엽게 또 가끔은 사납게 보여지는 늑개 캐릭터 'TUFF'는 관람객과 더 가깝고 친숙하게 교감하고자 하는 작가의 노력입니다. 회화 뿐만 아니라 조형물, 라이트 에이션 등 다양한 오브제로 표현되는 'TUFF' 전시가 3/13~3/26에 진행됩니다.

'결여 결핍 편견 선입견 존재'를 키워드로 메인 오브제 '이미지'와 '메세지'를 담아서 작업을 진행합니다.

타이포 또한 이미지의 일부분이라고 생각하기에, 의미를 담는 동시에 시각적 이미지의 구성을 자유롭게 보여질 수 있게 표현하고 있습니다.

우리는 자라면서 자의 또는 타의에 의한 영향으로 인해 가치관이 정립되고, 자아가 완성된다고 생각합니다. 자라는 환경, 직업, 나라, 문화, 성에 대한 인식 등으로 인해 수많은 영향이 하나로 뭉치거나 분리되기도 하죠. 그로인한 경험들로 인해 옳고 그름을 판단하는 개념인 편견과 선입견이 우리들 안에 깊숙이 잠재되어 있게 됩니다. 물론 저 또한 저만의 선입견이 있기때문에, 제가 보고 느끼고, 이것을 바라보는 시선은 어떤지, 존재와 감정들에 대한 생각들을 저만의 해석으로 표현하는 것이 작품활동의 주입니다.

이런 작업들을 통해서 다양한 오브제에 대한 본질을 최대한 객관적으로 바라보려고 노력하고 있으며, 'TUFF'라는 늑대 캐릭터를 통해 캐릭터적 재치 요소들과 메세지를 최대한 관람객들이 가볍게 즐길 수 있도록 표현하고 있습니다. 나아가 작품의 정답이 있는 해석이 아닌, 열린 해석과 각자의 경험을 토대로한 다양한 해석과 생각을 추구하고 있습니다. 때문에 본 작품들은 관람객과 함께할 때 비로소 완성됩니다.

With the keyword "deficiency, prejudice, preconceived notions", we work with the main objects "image" and "message."
Typo is also considered part of the image, so it contains meaning and at the same time expresses the composition of the visual image freely.
As we grow up, we think that our values are established and our self is completed through the influence of will or will. Growing up can bring together or separate many influences due to the environment, occupation, country, culture, gender awareness, etc. The experiences that result in prejudice and preconceived notions that judge right from wrong are deeply embedded in us. Of course, I also have my own preconceived notions, so the main focus of my work is to express my own interpretation of what I see and feel and how I look at them.
Through these works, we are trying to look at the essence of various objects as objectively as possible, and through the wolf character "TUFF," we express character wit elements and messages so that visitors can enjoy them as lightly as possible. Furthermore, we are pursuing various interpretations and thoughts based on open interpretation and individual experiences, not interpretation with the correct answer to the work. Therefore, these works are completed only when they are with the audience.
